Exhibition of works by laureates and participants of the Republican Contest of Young Authors of Fine and Decorative Arts "Zhas Tolkyn – 2021"

Ibrai Altynsarin – the great Kazakh educator, writer, public figure, folklorist, ethnographer was born on October 20 (November 1, new style), 1841 in the Arakaragai parish of the Mykolaiv district of Turgai region, now Altynsarin district of Kostanay region.

His contribution to the development of the enlightenment of the Kazakh people and their education is priceless. He organized the first schools for Kazakh children, where they studied not only literacy, but also craft.

The source of inspiration for the creation of a creative work can be vivid facts, events of I. Altynsarin's biography and legacy; his professional activities; scientific, pedagogical and literary works; friends, colleagues, his students and followers; memorable and memorial places associated with the name of the enlightener (I.Altynsarin Museum, Mausoleum, birthplace "Well Omar" (sacred object on the territory of Altynsarinsky district of Kostanay region), streets, schools and other objects named after him or dedicated to him and others).

When considering the competitive works, priority was given to the most complete disclosure of the declared topic.

The exhibition presents more than 100 works of contestants made in various techniques, types and genres of fine art.

103 applications of young artists from Kostanay region and from other regions of Kazakhstan were accepted for participation in the competition "Zhas Tolkyn – 2021". Kostanay region is represented by participants from the cities of Kostanay, Lisakovsk, Kachar, Tobyl, Zhitikara, as well as from Kostanay, Fedorovsky, Auliekolsky, Denisovsky, Sarykolsky districts. Applications for participation in the competition were accepted from Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, as well as from East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Almaty and Pavlodar regions.
