"The Generous brush of the Master" is a personal anniversary exhibition of Nikolai Vasilyevich Torshin, a member of the Union of Artists, dedicated to his 85th anniversary

The personal anniversary exhibition "Generous brush of the Master" by the famous Kostanay artist Nikolai Vasilyevich Torshin is a kind of creative report for more than half a century of work in the fine arts. His achievements in the development of the cultural sphere of the Kostanay region and the Republic of Kazakhstan were marked by such awards as the Kazyna award of the Kostanay Club of Patrons, the badge "Madeniyet salasyn uzdegi", the Astana medal, the honorary badge "Kurmet" of the Union of Artists of the capital.

Nikolay Torshin, a native of Uritsky (now Sarykolsky) district, was captivated by the beauty of the local boundless expanses from childhood. Studying at the Almaty Art School, many years of inspired work in Kostanay art and production workshops helped him to become a wonderful landscape painter.

Nikolai Vasilyevich Torshin is a painter of the classical school, in love with the beauty of his native land, writing it spiritually and with sensitive tenderness. His poetic landscapes seem to be permeated with sunlight, carrying a mood of hope and warm memories.

Nikolai Torshin has created thousands of works made in various genres and techniques. His works are admired by the skill and elaboration of lines, the joy of perceiving the world and color harmony.  The creative palette of the recognized singer of his native land, who generously shares his experiences and impressions, is presented at the exhibition in all its richness and diversity. In addition to pictorial easel works and etude compositions, an extensive author's collection of graphic drawings is exhibited.
