A sample of Russian folk architecture of the late XIX – early XX century. The building was built in the traditions of stone architecture. The history of the building's construction is unknown.
Since 1912, the building has been rented by a well-known Kostanay haymaker merchant from the landlord A.N. Kenix. In the early years of Soviet power, the building housed the gubkom of the party and the gubkom of the Komsomol organization. Then – the building of the medical library. Currently, the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Akimat of Kostanay is located.
Description of the monument
Dating of the monument: late XIX – early XX century
Location: Kostanay, ul. Altynsarina, 128
The building is brick, not plastered, on a rubble foundation. It is rectangular in plan with a brick extension on the side of the courtyard north-eastern facade. The internal structure is a set of rooms, almost not communicating with each other, with two corridors and a hall with a staircase. The main facade with a length of 26.5 m faces Pushkin Street. In the processing of facades, the techniques of vertical articulation with blades at the junctions of walls and horizontal, profiled rods, rust, characteristic of Russian folk architecture of the late XIX – early XX century, are used.
The low brick basement reaches the level of the first floor windows. The windows are double, double-leaf, wooden floors.
The height of the building is 8.5 m. Construction volume – 3123, 75 m3.
