KOZHAMKULOV SERALY (SERKE)

((1896, village No. 13 of Komsomolsk, now Karabalyk district of Kostanay region - 1979) - Kazakh theater and film actor, one of the founders of stage art, People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR. Hero of Socialist Labor, winner of the Stalin Prize of the third degree. One of the founders of dramatic theater art in Kazakhstan. He began performing on stage in 1919, when he was in Kostanay in the detachment of A.Dzhangildin. Since 1925, he worked as an actor and director at the Kazatk named after M. O. Auezov (Alma-Ata). One of the first artistic directors of the Kazakh drama theater. For 50 years of his activity in theater and cinema, he has played about 200 roles. He was repeatedly awarded State Prizes of the USSR and the Kazakh SSR, government orders and medals, Honorary Citizen of Kostanay.
