NAURYZBAYEV KHAKIMZHAN YESSIMKHANOVICH

(1925, village No. 1 of Mendygarinsky district of Kostanay region - 2009) - the first Kazakh professional sculptor who stood at the origins of the national monumental art of Kazakhstan. Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, People's Artist of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize named after Ch.Valikhanov, winner of the Tarlan Prize, knight of the Parasat Order, professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov created works included in the golden fund of fine Arts.

H.Nauryzbayev graduated from the sculpture faculty of the Kharkiv State Art Institute. Returning to Alma-Ata, he taught at the Alma-Ata Art School, achieved the opening of the sculpture department.

Khakimzhan Nauryzbayev created more than 300 works, including the famous monuments to Abai Kunanbayev and Chokan Valikhanov in Almaty, a series of works dedicated to the people's akyn Dzhambul Dzhabayev.

The sculptor's works are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, in the A.Kasteev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty and in other art museums of Kazakhstan, as well as in the funds of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore.
