((1858, village No. 4 of Ken-Aral volost, Nikolaevsky uyezd of Turgay region - 1928) - the first professional Kazakh doctor. On the instructions of Ibrai Altynsarin, M.Karabayev's parents sent him to study at the first Kyrgyz boarding school at the Trinity Men's Gymnasium. In 1881 he was enrolled in the medical faculty of Kazan University, after graduation he worked in the city clinics of Kazan and Orenburg, as a doctor of the "settlement" of Kustanai, a district doctor of the Irgiz district. But the real civil feat, the real asceticism begins when he leaves for Yakutia. He treated Yakuts for tuberculosis, scurvy, trachoma, and other diseases. But along with this, for all five years he treated people with leprosy in the Yakut and Srednekolymsky leproseries. Only inexorable old age and shattered health forced this strong man, who worked selflessly for 40 years in the name of health and people's lives, to leave his favorite business in 1927.
