He graduated from the Kazakh University in 1958 and worked there until 1978 as an assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor, head of the Department of Computational Mathematics. Since 1978 - Director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, in 1988 -1994. - President of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan. In 1987, he was awarded the USSR State Prize for a series of works on the theory of transfer. From 1991 to 2005 – Director of the Institute of Space Research of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Author of more than 150 scientific papers, including 6 monographs. By decree of the President of the USSR, for his great contribution to the use of space science achievements in the interests of the national economy and active participation in the preparation and implementation of the flight of the Soyuz TM-13 spacecraft, he was awarded the Order of Lenin. For preparing the scientific flight program of the first Kazakh cosmonaut T.U. Aubakirov was awarded the Order of Lenin. He directed the program of scientific experiments of cosmonaut T.A. Musabayev's flights.
