OMAROV ELDES

(1892, Dambarskaya volost of Kustanaysky uyezd, now the village of Kozhai of B.Mailina district - 1937) - public figure, linguist, publicist, translator, teacher. For such a multifaceted activity, his contemporaries called him the Kazakh Lomonosov. During the Civil War, he worked as chairman of the Kostanay branch and commissioner of the Alash Horde in Kostanay county. He taught at the Kazakh Institute of Public Education (CINEMA). Author of a number of textbooks in the Kazakh language, such as physics, algebra, trigonometry and geometry. Russian, German, he translated them, processed and wrote them himself. He worked as a teacher at the Tashkent Pedagogical Institute, Central Asian State University. At the end of 1929, he was arrested and sentenced to death. The sentence was commuted to 10 years of exile in a concentration camp. In July 1933, he was released ahead of schedule, returned to Alma Ata. He teaches at the Kazakh State Medical Institute, Kazakh State University. In 1937, he was sentenced to death by firing squad.
