NURZHAN NAUSHABAYEV

(1859, Kuttyk village, now Kostanay district of Kostanay region - 1919) was a poet.  He received his initial education from an aul mullah, and later studied at the Troitsk madrasah. He was diligently engaged in self-education, fluent in Russian, Tatar, Bashkir and other Turkic languages. Nurzhan was one of the closest friends and associates of the scientist-educator I. Altynsarin.

Aitys Nurzhana with Bibisara about love and mutual respect of girls and horsemen was popular among the people.  Of the aitys riddles, the aitys of Sapargali (Kuanyshev) and Nurzhan are remarkable," Sabit Mukanov wrote in the book "Folk Heritage".

 The research of Nurzhan Naushabayev's creativity is carried out in the works of Sabit Mukanov, Akhmet Baitursynov, Esmagambet Ismailov, Beysenbai Kenzhebayev, Mariam Khakimzhanova, Kazhym Zhumaliev, Auelbek Konyratbayev and others. Many of Nurzhan's songs passed from mouth to mouth and have been preserved in the memory of admirers of his talent. Nurzhan Naushabayev also wrote the story poem "Сегіз сері", dedicated to the legendary rebel of the Steppe, batyr and akyn Segiz seri Shakshak.
