KUBEEV SPANDIYAR

(1878, Alakul village, now Aksuat of Mendykarinsky district of Kostanay region - 1956) - Kazakh Soviet writer, public figure, honored teacher of the Kazakh SSR, organizer of new schools in villages. He studied at the Kazakh-Russian school founded by I. Altynsarin, at the courses for the training of primary school teachers in Kostanay. He taught Russian language and literature to Kazakh children. In his pedagogical activity, he followed the methods of teaching I. Altynsarin. He compiled a textbook for reading Kazakh schools "Exemplary Child" on the principle of K. Ushinsky's anthology "Native word". The book includes translated by him I. Krylov's fables, legends, poems by Russian writers and teachers, samples of Kazakh folklore, short stories about natural phenomena and the animal world.

In 1913, one of the first Kazakh novels was published - "Kalym". In 1944, he was awarded the title of "Honored Teacher of the Kazakh SSR".  The experience of working at the Aksuat seven-year school was described by him in the book "A Dream Come True", published in 1951.

Pedagogical views were reflected in scientific articles «Оқытушының беделді болуының маңызы», «Балаларды мәдениеттілікке тәрбиелеу», «Балаларды оқуға ынталандыру туралы».  He was awarded two Orders of Lenin. A street in Kostanay is named after him.
