(1928, Turgay village, Zhangeldinsky district, Kostanay region - 1994) - poet, translator, People's writer of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize. Graduated from the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute named after Abai. More than forty of his books have been published. His "Song about Mother" was perceived by the whole Kazakh people as a hymn of devotion and love of a person to his own mother. The two-volume "Star Destinies" was a kind of peak in the poet's work. For him, in 1980, he was awarded the title of laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The poem "Steppe Bell" about the enlightener of the Kazakh people Ibrai Altynsarin is a masterpiece of Kazakh poetry. He translated into Kazakh the works of A.Pushkin, M.Lermontov, L.Tolstoy, N.Nekrasov, V.Korolenko, I.Bunin, I.Franko, V.Bryusov, S.Yesenin, A.Rudaki, A.Mickiewicz, S.Petefi, R.Gamzatov.He translated the third book of Leo Tolstoy's novel "War and Peace". Honorary Citizen ofKostanay, Arkalyka. A street in Kostanay is named after him.
