On July 25, 2023, an exhibition of one painting from the museum's stock collection, dedicated to the bicentenary of the birth of the folk musician, composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly, opened in the exposition hall of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore. The visitors are presented with a painting by the artist Moldakhmet Kenbayev «Kurmangazy», created by him in 1972.

The famous musician, the author of numerous kuys (plays for dombra) had a great influence on the development of Kazakh musical culture. At the exhibition, the audience can see and feel the personality of the great composer, deeply moved by the beauty of his native land, masterfully conveyed by the artist through the image of the boundless steppe.
