(1917, Torgai - 1977, Almaty) - Kazakh composer, Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR. He graduated from the Almaty State Conservatory. Since 1941 - head of the Kazakh Radio Choir, in 1947-1949 - head, conductor of the women's song and dance ensemble. From 1969 until the last days of his life he taught at the Kazakh Women's Pedagogical Institute. Author of the musical drama "Mayra", symphonic poems "Bright Youth", "Collective farm holiday", suites for chorus: "On Jailau", "For Peace" and others; vocal compositions, major poems for chorus - "Girl's Dream", "Aitys", "Fruit of Labor". He made a great contribution to the development of the choral song genre in Kazakhstan. The most significant is the work "For Peace", in which original techniques of national choral polyphony are found. Baykadamov organized the pop ensemble "Aigul". Now the Kazakh Choral Chapel bears his name.
