"Creativity as the meaning of life"

Georgy Mikhailovich Sokov is a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a talented painter, graphic artist, set designer, muralist. For more than half a century of creative activity, he has created about 600 works in a variety of techniques and genres of fine art. Works of G.The juices presented at the anniversary exhibition are a fusion of mature craftsmanship and deep philosophical content.

The individuality of the vision of the world and the high professionalism of Georgy Sokov brought him worldwide fame, the artist took part in many international, republican, regional and city art exhibitions. His works are in the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A.Kasteev in Almaty, in the museums of Nur-Sultan, Pavlodar, Kostanay, Petropavlovsk, Troitsk, in private collections and museums of Russia, Poland, Romania, Italy, France, Belgium.

Georgy Mikhailovich Sokov is a laureate of the Award of the Akim of Kostanay region "For outstanding achievements in the field of culture and art" and the Award of the Kostanay Club of Patrons in the nomination "Kazyna". He was awarded the honorary badge "Madeniyet kayratkeri" of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the honorary badge "Kurmet" of the Union of Artists of Nur-Sultan.

  1. Sokov is characterized by a virtuoso mastery of the brush, which allows him to embody his feelings and thoughts on the canvas in the language of painting. The motives of the artist's thematic works are diverse – these are myths, biblical stories, high poetry, folk folklore, childhood memories and travel impressions. In his special picturesque manner of writing, the expressive and dynamic temperament of the author, symbolism and metaphor in understanding the surrounding world are visibly conveyed within the canvas. The artist is constantly in good creative shape and, sometimes, does not wait for inspiration to come: "... I take a brush and give myself to work."
