On April 8, 2025, the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore opened an exhibition of paintings and graphic works by Soviet and Kazakhstani artists participating in the Great Patriotic War from the museum's stock collection and models of military equipment, art dioramas dedicated to historical events, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory "Through the Eyes of those who were in battle."
This exhibition is not only a tribute to the artists who participated in the Great Patriotic War, but also an important reminder of the importance of art in preserving the memory of a tragic and heroic time.
The exposition will introduce visitors to the works of famous artists whose works are represented at the exhibition: B. Chekalin, N. Afanasyev, S. Besedin, N. Gaev, and others. Part of the exhibition consists of graphic works made in pencil, created right at the front or during the evacuation.
The exhibition also features works by modeling authors such as Dmitry Ponkratov, Ivan Troyansky, Alexey Bubenshchikov, Denis Gainutdinov, Vyacheslav Isaev. Scale replicas of military, civilian, and special equipment from different countries, including tanks, planes, ships, and automobiles. A special place is occupied by dioramas — three-dimensional models reproducing historical events such as "The Last Battle", "Ladoga of Life", "Caucasian Front" and others.
