On July 9, 2025, the international traveling exhibition "Caravan of the Great Steppe" opened in the fine arts department of the Kostanay Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. The tour takes place in the cities of Kazakhstan and the countries of the Great Silk Road: Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, China, Japan and so on.
The planned project brings together the works of famous Kazakhstani artists and craftsmen who reflected the centuries-old heritage of the Great Steppe and the history of the ancient trade route in their works. These are such names as Bakhytnur Burdesbekov, Adilgali Bayandin, Umit Zhubanysheva, Aitkul Tasmagambetova, Kamilla Zhapalova, Tabigat Kuzhimbayev, Nurbek Zhardemov.
In the exhibition canvases, viewers saw images of nomadic culture, scenes of life on the caravan route, symbols of friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Eurasia.
The exhibition was created to emphasize the cultural diversity and deep historical ties of the countries of the Great Silk Road. Each city hosting the exhibition will see a unique combination of traditional art and modern interpretations of cultural heritage.
The exhibition caravan began its journey in Astana, after which an exhibition was held in Petropavlovsk, and now it arrives in Kostanay, then it will go to other cities of Kazakhstan, as well as abroad, these are Baku, Tashkent, Bishkek, Istanbul, Beijing, Tokyo and other cultural centers. In each of the cities, the exhibition will last for several weeks, giving residents and guests of the city the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan.
The exhibition "Caravan of the Great Steppe" will run for a month.
