Night at the Museum – 2026
Every year on May 18, museum workers from different countries celebrate their professional holiday – International Museum Day. Since 1992, the festival has been held annually under a certain slogan concerning the peculiarities of museum business. The theme of this year's International Museum Day is "Museums uniting a divided World." On May 18, from 19:00 to 22:00, residents and guests of Kostanay took an active part in the interactive project "Night at the Museum – 2026". On the festive evening, a variety of programs were presented for Kostanay residents: fascinating exhibitions, master classes, creative quizzes, musical performances and much more. As part of the project, we worked: "Mini-exotarium" - an exhibition of exotic animals, an exhibition-fair of products by masters of decorative and applied arts, "Kazakh brand" - an exhibition of national sweets, an exhibition of equipment from the historical reconstruction club "Temir Tumen", a personal exhibition of a member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan S.Shalunova's "Polytra Zhizni" and the exhibition of students of the A.I. Nikiforov Art School "Spring Festival and Creativity". In addition, the guests saw animated AI animation photographs of "Cinema from the Past" (short scenes from the life of the city), as well as the "Shadow Theater", a performance by Police Department officers prepared within the framework of the "Law and Order" concept. A meeting with robots was also held as part of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence. The highlight of the evening was the fashion show of the NAPOKAZ modeling agency, which gave the audience an unforgettable experience. On this special evening, children and adults took part in an "Archaeological Lottery" on artifacts from the museum's collections, an interactive quiz "Truth or Fiction?", a master class on chainmail weaving, as well as drawing workshops from Kostanay artists. Each visitor was presented with handouts (booklets, postcards, calendars) dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Kostanay region.
