On December 24, 2025, the Nikiforov Art School opened an exhibition "Living Portrait" of paintings and graphics made in various techniques from the stock collection of the Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore of the Department of Culture of the Akimat of Kostanay region. The main idea of the exhibition is to show the genre of portrait in its historical development: its origins and functions, main types and expressive means. Since the main object of the portrait is a person, this genre reflects the key issues of human existence: the place of the individual in society and the world, his role in history and the present, ideas about beauty, attitude to the divine, heroic and everyday. The exhibition features works by famous Kazakhstani, Russian and Kostanay artists such as I. Stadnichuk, V. Timofeev, E. Babad, A. Bogdanov, G. Sokov. The portraits were created to preserve the uniqueness of appearance and character, to emphasize what makes each person unique. Through them, we can feel the breath of time and rediscover those who lived before, realizing how much unites us.
